Denyer and the Colonel “hungry” for more V8 Supercar Success

Written on the 30 July 2009

SEVEN Network television presenter Grant Denyer heads to Sandown near Melbourne this weekend for Round 4 of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series. Coming off a recent race win in the Crimsafe Ford at Townsville, Grant hopes to repeat his Sandown success of last year when he won his first V8 Supercar race. The busy racer will also do double duties driving the Decorug Mini in the MINI Challenge races.

Joining Grant’s attack on the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series for the remainder of the season will be fast food chain KFC, with the KFC logo highlighting the bonnet an rear quarters of the Crimsafe Ford.

“It’s great to have such an iconic brand on our Ford for the rest of the season and we are really looking forward to an exciting partnership,” Denyer said.
“We are planning a number of promotions with KFC throughout the year giving fast food fans a chance to win hot laps in our V8 Supercar,”

Grant is hopeful his recent winning form will continue on this weekend as he sits in the top 4 of both the Fujitsu V8 Supercar and Mini Challenge Series.

“Sandown has never been one of my favorite tracks however it now ranks on the CV after last year’s win. It was a great race and with rain falling over the last few laps made conditions extremely difficult on slicks. Hopefully this weekend will be dry however this is Melbourne we are talking about.”

Drivers will hit the track for the first time Friday for practice, with both categories having three races over the weekend.
