" Mad Dog off the leash for  Mallala V8 round"

This weekend, the Summit Fleet Leasing/JAXQuickfit Ford will be back on track for Round 5 of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Championship at Mallala, near Adelaide in South Australia.

Hot off a strong run in the Sandown 500, Grant Denyer and Alex Davison finished 14th outright for DJR so with plenty of recent miles under his belt, the SUNRISE weatherman is looking for another strong run this weekend at Mallala.

"We finished second overall at Mallala last year, which was our best V8 Supercar result, so I need to go one better this year," Denyer said.
"We have had good pace this year, and were looking strong for a podium at Oran Park last round until I was pinged for a jumped start."

It been a tough week for the entire motorsport family with the death of
the legendary  Peter Brock. Grant was competing in the same rally in Western Australia and went through the stage only minutes before Brock's accident.

"It has just stunned us all and we still can't believe what has happened. I have interviewed Peter many times, and cut my teeth with James in the V8 Ute series where Peter was always looking on and giving advice. My thoughts
go out to James, Bev, all the family and the many race fans that simply idolised him. It is a loss that will take time for us all come to terms with,
however when you look at his achievements over 4 decades of motorsport, the memory of Brocky will live forever in true legend status. I was honoured to be part of the Peter Brock tribute which went to air on SEVEN last Sunday night."

The Summit Ford will practise and qualify Saturday at Mallala, with three races including the full reverse grid on Sunday. Grant will again team with Alex Davison in the ACCOR 18 car at Bathurst in 3 weeks time.
